It’s great to see these stories. My wife and I decided decided not to have children and never regret the decision. We can both spend more time on things that are important to us and invest our time and energy into ourselves, our relationship and our community.

When we first got married, we were frequently pooh-poohed when we talked about not wanting kids. People would just nod knowingly and say “just wait” or “we’ll see”. But several years down the line, we’re as sure as ever. We’re both doing really interesting things in our careers and spend our free time traveling or working on hobbies.

I look around at people I grew up with who decided to have children and much prefer the life I have. I hope that we can continue to move past the idea that breeding should be one’s principle goal in life.
