I just wrote something related. There are certainly those among us that are struggling to live, but for anyone that has food on the table, a job and roof over your head, we need to stop and breathe. Once we get our basic needs cared for, we need to challenge ourselves to something more than just dwelling on what we don’t have or dwelling negativity.

We’ve gotten caught up on a such a treadmill of cynicism that it’s going to drive us made. We’re basically just racing to see who can believe the worst about one another but that kind of negativity eats away at you.

The long term consequences of extreme stress are well documented, and I’m terrified of what we’re doing to ourselves. There’s already evidence that chronic stress can contribute to obesity and depression. Who knows what it will do on a 30 or 50 year time horizon.
