A great success story, but I think it’s important to highlight a lot of the intangibles that you’ve probably got, too. Things like drive and willingness to do hard work without immediate praise are extremely important.

I’ve heard young people throwing away the idea that school can be important because there are amazing stories about people who don’t need to graduate from high school or college to become successes. But because you weren’t spending time working in the classroom doesn’t mean you weren’t spending your time working.

Traditional education may not be for everyone, but to become a success, you still need to find a passion and work like a dog to get it.If you’re not willing to put in that leg work or make that commitment, the average earning potential for a college grad is higher than a high school grad, which is higher than no degree at all. So the real question is, are you going to work to not be average?
